Sam’s Castle Tour and tea/lunch

The castle, built in 1908, boasts a long colorful history. Come and take a guided room-by-room historical tour 1.5 hour event includes light refreshments and time to revel in the whimsy of this museum-like seaside treasure. With its square towers and walls made of rectangular concrete blocks resembling ancient stonework, this architectural oddity southwest of San Francisco looks like something out of a Shakespeare play. This bluff-top castle overlooking the ocean actually has a uniquely California pedigree. In the aftermath of the 1906, this castle was constructed so that it could stand up to both fire and earthquake. The result was this fortress-like concrete compound in the Pacifica neighborhood of Sharp Park. The Castle does have stairs and wheelchairs and walkers do not fit through some of the doorways. After the tour a hosted lunch is included at nearby restaurant. Activity level 3; Fee: $85
Cantor Arts Center – Stanford University

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see the highlights of the Cantor's permanent collection as a docent leads you through a selection of works spanning varied cultures and time periods. The center is renowned for having one of the world’s largest collections of works from famed French sculptor Auguste Rodin. Among the museum’s permanent collection are artifacts from the Leland Stanford family, photographs from Dorothea Lange and Muybridge, and paintings from European masters. The museum, founded when the university opened in 1891, was created to make collections available to students and the public. Lunch will be on your own at the Cantor Café at the museum which serves sandwiches, soups, salads, daily specials, and fresh desserts. Pacific Orchid Expo, San Francisco

For flower lovers, this orchid show is the best time to visit San Francisco. You will see many exotic variations grown by gardeners from all over the world and learn about raising orchids from experts. The Pacific Orchid Exposition is the largest orchid show in the United States featuring over 150,000 beautiful orchids from all over the world. San Francisco Movie Tour

Explore San Francisco’s cinematic history with an actor for a guide on this tour of the city’s role in over 50 movies. This tour is designed for movie buffs who will get an inside look at where dozens of classic and recent movies were filmed. See the scenes of high-speed car chases, dramatic ocean rescues, and nostalgic TV homes. San Francisco Movie Tours captures and recreates this movie magic as you watch actual movie clips on our fun “Theater-on-Wheels” and pass locations made famous by classic and contemporary movies. Feel like a Hollywood star as you tour movie locations in San Francisco! Lunch at Mel’s Drive-in Diner is included. This “Theater-on-Wheels” bus will pick up at Hacienda de las Flores, Moraga. Cornerstone Garden Tour/ Lunch at Palooza Eatery

The group will enjoy a docent-led tour of the beautiful Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma which will include the background and history of Cornerstone and while viewing the 9 Architectural installations as well as the 5 Sunset gardens and plants.
